Online 12-Step Group for Compulsive Overeaters

The Tools of Recovery

It is suggested that you consult your physician or nutritionist for a healthy food plan. This tool will help with the physical aspects of compulsive overeating.

Sponsorship

Sponsors are members who are in recovery from compulsive overeating and are working the 12 step program to the best of their ability. They can help you get started on your journey to recovery by sharing their experience, strength and hope up to the level of their own recovery.

Meetings

Meetings can be either face-to-face or online, where two or more compulsive overeaters come together to share.

Telephone and Email

Telephone and email are used to reach out to one another on a daily basis to let us know we are not alone anymore.

Writing

Writing is valuable when we begin working the steps. Putting our thoughts and feeling down on paper helps to better understand them.

Literature

We read the OA and AA literature which helps us to better understand the 12 Step Recovery Program. This is where we find that there is a solution.

Anonymity

Anonymity assures us the freedom to share openly and keeps us from being a gossip club. This also allows us to place the principles of the program before personalities.

Service

Service helps us to carry the message of recovery to the compulsive overeater who is still suffering.

OA's responsibility pledge states:

Always to extend the hand and heart of OA to all who share my compulsion; for this, I am responsible.
